This job now calls for an automotive engineer.

An automotive engineer takes on the position of different roles including an auto technician, automotive designer, and an automotive development specialist. As such, he is responsible for testing the engines before they are introduced to the market. Automotive engineers also attend to customer feedback in order to develop better technologies that would further satisfy customer needs.

An automotive engineer specialize in the fields of aerodynamics, alternative fuels, chassis, electronics, emissions, ergonomics, manufacturing, materials, motor sport, power train, rapid prototyping, vehicle and pedestrian safety or supply chain management. An automotive engineer therefore not only becomes a technical specialist, but also the manager, the researcher, and the economist as well.

Automotive engineer takes on the following tasks: they develop test procedures with conventional and innovative methods, anticipate vehicle and component behavior in different conditions, and negotiate the costs of development and engineering work with commercial departments. An automotive engineer also heads the supervision of the technical staff in an automotive company, from the technicians, designers, and other personnel.
